On Friday 7th October we met at Ashcombe Park for our Pre-school session. We walk around the park looking at and collecting signs of Autumn. The weather wasn't quite as good this year as we had for this event last year but a great time was had by all and lots of autumnal items were collected and used in pre-school the following week.

On 16th June, children who are starting school this September all joined the Reception children from St Mark's School for a 'Big Sing'. The Pre-school children shared two of their favourites - There's a Monster in the Bathroom and There's a Spider on the Floor. The St Mark's School children treated them to some new songs - the pre-school children particularly enjoyed a Tiger song. They also sang some songs together, ending with a lively rendition of Dr Knickerbocker. A great time was had by all! A big THANK YOU to St Mark's School for hosting this event.

Red Nose Day 2011 was another resounding success.

We were delighted to welcome dozens of parents and families for breakfast where the children were proudly wearing the Tee Shirts that they had bought and decorated as part of the fundraising efforts.

Jean Smith would like to thank all the staff, parents and friends who helped to raise an estimated £300.

Children, staff and committee members all rounded off the spring term with a fantastic morning of fun and games at the Easter party on 8th April.

Egg and spoon races, face painting (thanks to Rosanna's Mum and big sister!), biscuit decorating, pass the parcel, and 'Pin the tail on the Rabbit' provided plenty of activity for the first part or the morning.

After a snack break when the decorated biscuits were consumed, it was time for a massive Easter Egg Hunt in the Pre-school garden.

Then there was just time for a couple of big circle games before everyone went home with their chocolate eggs and the Aunties got to put their feet up for a well-deserved rest.

Thank you to everyone who made the event happen!

Our Pre-school children were so successful with their sponsored egg-sitting event that £594.20 was raised. Thank you to all those who sponsored and a big well done to all the broody hens among the children!

Fundraising BagsA big THANK YOU to all who brought in bags of clothing and textiles for our spring fundraising campaign! The big pile that was collected by the lorry was a tribute to the superb effort that you all made. For anyone who missed out, don't worry - there will be another opportunity to create an even bigger bag mountain in the autumn.
