Saturday 16th October marked the date of the 2010 AGM of the Pre-school.

Parents, staff, helpers and friends attending the meeting were welcomed with croissants, pain-au-chocolates and fresh coffee.  Whilst enjoying the refreshments, people were able to browse several stalls selling greeting cards, books, make-up and jewellery along with displays of the Pre-school children's work and a preview of the new website on a laptop.

The meeting was a significant one in the history of the organisation for two reasons.  Firstly, after more than twenty years of running under the auspices of St Marks Church, the group has become autonomous. The second reason is that the name has also been changed from St Mark's Church Playgroup to St Mark's Pre-school, reflecting its new status.

In her final speech as Chairperson, Rev Sheila MacInally said, I wish the group continued success as you continue to meet the learning and developmental needs of our local children in this new chapter of your work.  The church continues to support and pray for you all and we are here for you whenever you need to call on us.

After thanking Sheila MacInally and the Church for their support and involvement, Jean Smith, manager of St Marks Pre-school thanked everyone for their contributions over the last year in very many ways. She reflected on a year of many successes and achievements both with the work and the fundraising and was delighted that the Pre-school has continued to go from strength to strength.
